Jewellery Care

Our jewellery is crafted from a variety of metals and finishes, each with its own personality and care requirements. Sterling silver, for example, loves a gentle polishing cloth to keep tarnish at bay, while stainless steal jewellery benefits from mild soapy water and a soft brush. Plated, oxidised, and matte finishes add texture and colour but are more delicate, so avoid abrasive cleaners and store each piece separately to prevent scratching. Titanium is robust daily-wear options, yet still appreciates a rinse after exposure to chlorine, salt water, or cosmetics.

Beyond metal, gems introduce another layer of care, which is why we dedicate a separate gemstone care guide to help you protect their natural beauty. Every gemstone is ranked on the Mohs hardness scale, with diamonds at 10 and rubies or sapphires at 9, down to softer stones like opal, pearl, and turquoise between 5 and 6. The lower the number, the more susceptible a stone is to scratches, knocks, and sudden temperature changes.

Softer gems should be the last thing you put on and the first you take off, stored in fabric-lined compartments away from harder companions. Ultrasonic cleaners, steam, and harsh chemicals may be safe for very hard stones but can fracture, cloud, or discolour softer or porous gems.

Our jewllery and gemstone care pages provide metal-by-metal and detailed stone care instructions, ensuring every cherished piece whether heirloom or everyday favourite stays luminous for years to come.
