Any stones with a hardness of less than 6 is considered porous and should not be submerged in water as the water can damage them.

Purethica jewellery is crafted using high-quality materials, including silver, stainless steel, and pieces that are triple coated in 18-carat gold or sterling silver. Both silver and stainless steel are excellent choices for everyday wear, offering long-lasting durability without losing their shine.
Our triple-coated gold jewellery features a thicker layer than standard double-coated pieces, making it significantly more resistant to tarnishing and wear. This extra layer also reduces the likelihood of skin sensitivity or allergic reactions.
While Purethica jewellery is designed for daily wear, pieces featuring stones may be more delicate and should be handled with care. We recommend removing stone-set jewelry when doing hands-on tasks to preserve its beauty and integrity.
The easiest way to clear built-up energy from stones is by smudging. Smudging products can be found in the shop section of this website, and instructions for use are included with those items.
All crystals sold by Purethica are cleansed both physically and energetically before reaching you. However, to maintain their appearance and energy, they may need regular care. Over time, some stones can fade or change color with prolonged exposure to sunlight, so it's important to store your jewelry away from direct sunlight when not in use.
Physical Cleaning Instructions for Raw Stone Jewelry:
Raw stone jewelry is more delicate than polished stones and requires gentle care.
Always handle your raw crystal pieces with care and remove them before engaging in activities that may expose them to impact, moisture, or abrasive substances.
Clean your gemstone jewellery every 1–2 weeks if worn regularly, and more thoroughly every month to prevent buildup of dirt and oils. Less frequently worn pieces should be cleaned before and after storage.
Softer stones (below 7 on the Mohs hardness scale) such as opals, pearls, turquoise, malachite, and moonstone are more fragile. Avoid heat, harsh chemicals, and vigorous scrubbing even if the metal used in the jewellery piece is suitable for harsh cleaning this method needs to be avoided.
No. Chlorine, saltwater, and soaps can damage or dull gemstones, loosen settings, or degrade adhesives used in some pieces.
Pat gently with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using paper towels or tissues as they can scratch the surface, especially on softer stones.
Yes. Some stones like amethyst or kunzite can fade with prolonged sun exposure. Oils, lotions, and daily wear can also build up residue and dull their shine.
Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined box. This prevents scratches and keeps softer stones away from harder ones that may damage them.
Only some hard stones like diamonds, sapphires, and rubies can safely be cleaned this way. Softer or porous stones like opals, pearls, turquoise, or amber should never be exposed to ultrasonic or steam cleaners.
Wipe down your jewellery with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to remove oils and prevent buildup. This quick step keeps your gemstones looking vibrant.
